Regarding memorable characters on TV screens, Saxena Ji from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai stands out. Portrayed by the talented Saanand Verma, Saxena Ji’s quirky personality and iconic catchphrase “I like it” have made him a household name. However, beyond his onscreen antics, he faced a hair loss problem that was mentally and emotionally exhausting for him. This is the story of Saxena Ji’s hair transplant journey, why he chose Dermalife, and how Dr Garg’s Boosted FUE hair transplant technique helped him regain his confidence.
Why is hair loss like a nightmare for celebrities?
In the glamorous world of celebrities, appearances matter a lot. In such cases, hair loss can be daunting. While hair loss is a common worldwide issue, its impact is amplified for celebrities. Here is why it becomes a nightmare for most of them:
Public Scrutiny and Media Attention
Celebrities live under constant media scrutiny. Every aspect of their appearance is closely monitored and analyzed. Hair loss attracts significant attention in such situations because tabloids and the press constantly point out these changes.
Impact on career opportunities
In the entertainment industry, appearance is directly linked with career opportunities. Celebrities are cast for roles based on their looks, and heads full of hair are associated with a youthful look and an attractive personality.
Personal Confidence and Self-esteem
Like us, celebrities also feel insecure when they lose their hair. Hair is often seen as a symbol of beauty and confidence. Losing hair can lead to a significant drop in self-esteem and appearance. This affects the overall mental health of the celebrities.
Social media and online trolls
In the age of social media, celebrities are directly exposed to public opinion and criticism. Online trolls are very harsh, and they make cruel comments about the celebrity’s appearance, and hair loss can become the focal point of this negativity.
Role Models and Fan Expectations
Celebrities are often seen as role models, and their fans have certain expectations regarding their appearance. Hair loss can disappoint fans who idealize their favorite stars. Celebrities might feel the pressure to meet these expectations, leading them to seek solutions like hair transplants to maintain their image.
Saanand Verma’s Struggle with Hair Loss: Let’s have a look
An actor has various components; one of his life’s most important components is his personality. No matter how good an actor is, he will still be judged based on his looks. An actor must maintain variation in his looks.

Saanand Verma says, “I was very happy with my overall personality, but the only thing that used to bother me was my hair. It took me just 5 to 10 minutes to get my facial makeup done for the shoot, but it would take at least 30 minutes to do my hair. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with my hair because it was impacting my overall personality“.
To combat his hair loss, he met a trichologist in Mumbai who suggested Stem Cell Therapy. Stem cell therapy is a treatment for hair loss that aims to harness the body’s regenerative capabilities to stimulate hair growth and restore lost hair. Stem cells are unique cells that can develop into various types of cells in the body. They play a crucial role in repairing the damaged tissues. In hair loss, stem cell therapy tries to rejuvenate the hair follicles.
But for Saxena Ji, this therapy didn’t work out. Next, Saxena Ji tried a hair transplant in Mumbai, but that did not work either. He was not happy with the results at all.
He was in constant search for a doctor who was genuine and could do his transformation. While searching on YouTube, he came across Gaurav Garg’s channel, Dermalife. He researched it thoroughly and watched all his videos.
After watching his videos, he was sure that “This is the man for him” and Dr Gaurav Garg would be the one who would help him achieve the transformation he desired.
So the next step for Saxena ji was to contact Dr Gaurav Garg. He visited his clinic, and then the rest is history.

Step 1: Initial Consultation of Saxena JI with Dr Gaurav Garg
When Saxena Ji came across Dr Gaurav Garg on YouTube, he instantly decided that his hair issues would now end. A man with such personality, intelligence, and aesthetic sense is difficult to find. He realized that on his first meeting with Dr Gaurav Garg.
During his initial consultation, Saanand Verma came to know the following things:
- He was suffering from male pattern baldness, which can be treated easily.
- His hair loss scale was Norwood scale 6, where all hair is gone from around the temples and mid-scalp. Crown hair loss is also advanced.
- Dr Garg planned a total of 5500 to 6000 grafts for him.
- His hair transplant required two sessions. In the first session, Dr Garg transplanted 3000 grafts in the front area, and in the second session, 2600 grafts in the crown area.
- Dr Garg suggested that he will perform his hair transplant using the Boosted FUE Technique, India’s latest and most trusted hair transplant technique.
- Dr. Garg also marked the previously consumed donor area because we told you above that Saxena Ji had a small hair transplant in Mumbai.
- It is important to mark the previously consumed donor area because:
- It avoids overharvesting
- It maintains donor area health.
- It prevents surgical complications.
- It helps to plan future transplants.
- The donor area is the area from which the hair follicles will be extracted, and the recipient area is where these extracted hair follicles will be transplanted.
Saanand Verma was taken aback by how simply Dr Gaurav Garg explained all the above things, and thus, it was a smooth decision for him to get his hair transplant done at Dermalife and only from Dr. Gaurav Garg.

Understanding Hair Grafts and Boosted FUE Hair Transplant
Before delving into details of how Saxena Ji’s hair transplant occurred at Dermalife, we want to provide some basic terminology to help you understand his hair transplant better.
What are hair grafts?
A graft can contain 2 to 3 hair follicles. Hair follicles are also known as hair roots. The grafts are procured from the donor area and implanted in the recipient or balding areas. It greatly depends on the donor area of the individual and the number of hair follicles per graft, which helps him achieve the required hair density after the transplant.
Understanding Boosted FUE Hair Transplant
Hair transplants are performed in India using several techniques, including FUT, FUE, and unshaven FUE. At Dermalife Hair and Skin Clinic, we practice Boosted FUE hair transplant with Bio Gen Therapy. It is a minimally invasive technique in which we get the most natural results after the transplant.
Boosted FUE hair transplant in Delhi is the most advanced hair transplant technique. In this technique, once the hair grafts are extracted from the donor area, they are directly implanted in the recipient area, and the time gap between this process does not exceed an hour. This way, the survival of hair grafts increases considerably.
Another prominent way the vitality of Boosted FUE prevails over ordinary hair transplant procedures is by using the No-Root touch technique. During this method, the roots of the grafts are not touched, which enhances their survival rate and offers a chance at denser hair growth after a hair transplant in Delhi NCR. In traditional hair transplant procedures, there is a high chance of touching the root of the grafts, significantly reducing the roots’ survival rate.
Further, to supplement the hair growth after the transplant, we provide PRP therapy to the patients. Our blood platelets contain useful growth factors to make hair transplants successful. These growth factors help the roots of the transplanted hair to attach to the skin faster than usual and increase their chances of survival.
All these actions minimise the failure of the hair transplant and make the Boosted FUE hair transplant in Delhi a big success.
What are the striking features of the Boosted FUE Hair Transplant?
- This hair transplant procedure is minimally invasive.
- It is an almost painless procedure.
- There are no scars or minuscule scars.
- It is also suitable when the bald area is large, and you need more than 5000 grafts.
- It gives the most natural hair transplant results, and no one can know that you had a top hair transplant in Delhi in the first place.
- Recovery time is shorter.
- The graft survival rate is high, so the success rate of boosted hair transplants is also high.
Step 2: Day 1 – Saanand Verma Hair Transplant (3000 hair grafts in the front area)
So now that you have understood the terminology that would help you know the Vema Ji hair transplant procedure better, let us look at what happened on Day 1 of the hair transplant at Dermalife.

Hair Line Designing
Hairline design is an important aspect of the best hair transplant in Delhi, and only an expert doctor with a good aesthetic sense can give you the most natural hairline.
- An expertly designed hairline considers the patient’s age, facial features, and growth patterns, making the hair transformation completely natural.
- A well-designed hairline can enhance your facial proportions.
- Dr Gaurav Garg creates a customised hairline design for each patient based on their gender, age, ethnic background, and, above all, personal preference.
- A natural-looking hairline involves carefully placing hair follicles to achieve hair density.
Designing a hairline is both a technical and artistic endeavour. The surgeon must have a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of hair growth patterns. Creative skill is essential in creating a natural hairline that enhances the patient’s appearance. The surgeon’s experience and expertise play a significant role in the success of the hairline design.
The hair transplant process begins after designing the hairline and marking the donor area (current and previous donor areas).
Preparation: Saanand Verma was prepared for the surgery. He had some relevant blood tests, and his donor and recipient areas were identified.
Head Shaving: Head shaving is integral to FUE hair transplants in Delhi. The donor area has to be shaved for better follicle extraction.
Marking: Dr Garg then carefully marked the donor area (an area from where hair follicles will be extracted) and the recipient area (an area where hair follicles will be transplanted). This step ensures that hair follicles are precisely implanted, with a perfect hairline and density distribution.
Cleaning with Betadine: The marked areas are cleaned with Betadine to reduce the risk of infection.
Local Anaesthesia: After cleaning and marking, local anaesthesia is injected into the donor and recipient areas to reduce pain during the transplant.
Slits Making: Dr Garg then made tiny incisions in the recipient area using customised and specially designed instruments. It is done to determine the density, direction, and angle of the transplanted hair. This is one of the most important steps of hair transplant surgery, and this step ensures the natural outcome of hair transplant surgery.
Extraction: It’s another crucial step of hair transplant surgery. A micromotor device fitted with a punch takes out grafts from the donor area. At Dermalife, we use the sharpest and finest quality punches imported from the USA. These punches ensure the finest quality grafts and minimal or no scarring over the donor area. After punching, hair follicle surgery costs or hair grafts, are carefully taken out from the donor area using fine forceps.
Implantation of Grafts: Grafts are then placed into the incisions with the natural direction and angle of hair in mind. For Implantation, as stated above, we use the No Root Touch Technique. This technique ensures no or minimal handling of the grafts. Grafts remain healthy and undamaged.
After the procedure, bandaging and medications were given to Mr Verma to prevent any future infections. The process was smooth when Verma Ji listened to his favourite Kishore Kumar Songs in the back.
Day 2 – Saanand Verma Hair Transplant (2600 hair grafts in the Crown area)
Saanand Verma’s hair transplant was carried out in two parts at Dermalife. On the second day, Dr Garg performed a hair transplant in his crown area, which involved 2600 hair grafts. The initial few steps were the same as explained above.
Some important points that should be considered while doing hair transplant surgery are as follows. The natural angle and direction of grafts over the crown area are constantly changing. The grafts over the crown area make a whorl. Some patients have two or three whorls over their crown area.

At Dermalife, we mimic the natural direction and angle of the transplanted hair so that patients get natural results.
Step 3: Post-HAIR TRANSPLANT Care
- All the head bandages were removed on the subsequent day, and head washing was started from the next day. We explain thoroughly about head washing after transplant to every patient.
- For the next 15 days after the hair transplant, he was instructed not to rub his transplanted area and to be gentle while touching it. Rubbing could damage his newly transplanted hair in the initial 10 – 15-day period. And that goes for all hair transplant recipients out there.
- He was also not allowed to sleep on his side because he had a hair transplant done in his temple area, too. Sleeping on the side would cause damage to the newly transplanted hair there.
- The recovery period was painless and smooth, and he was given proper medications after the surgery. As per his experience, the whole procedure was entirely safe at Dermalife.
- The Dermalife team was in constant touch with Saanand Verma to track his recovery for 15 days.
So Saxena Ji’s hair transplant was an “I LIKE IT “moment for him, and he gave all the credit to Dermalife and Dr Gaurav Garg.
THE MUCH-AWAITED TRANSFORMATION OF SAXENA JI
As mentioned in the earlier part of the blog, Saanand Verma constantly searched for a dermatologist in India who could give his hair the transformation he wanted. After a failed hair transplant in Mumbai, Dr GARG performed a repair hair transplant, and the results were amazing. Earlier during the shooting, Saxena Ji had to use hair fibres to hide the bald areas on his scalp, and now he has to worry about nothing. His 6-month transformation is a miracle, and he owes all this to Dermalife and Dr Gaurav Garg, the best hair transplant surgeon in Delhi.
He still visits Dermalife for his regular PRP sessions; the results have been amazing.
HAIR TRANSPLANTS ARE PAINFUL: BUSTING THE MYTHS
So, many celebrities and people avoid hair transplants, citing that it is an extremely painful surgical procedure. But it all depends on the surgeon’s skill, efficiency, and experience. Saanand Verma is the biggest example of it. He resumed his shooting 2 days after the surgery. If a dermatologist and trichologist in India, like Dr Gaurav Garg, performs your hair transplant surgery, then the chances of pain are minimal. Saxena Ji had a total of 16-hour hair transplant surgery, and he experienced no pain after it.
